A scientific conference titled “Protecting the Lives of Children and Pedestrians and Strengthening the National Road Safety System: Evidence- and Enforcement-Based Solutions Integrating Road Engineering and Education” was successfully held on October 23, 2026, in the “Soyombot” Hall of the University of Internal Affairs. The conference was organized by the Police School in accordance with the guidelines approved under Order No. A/369 of the President of the University of Internal Affairs, issued in 2026.

The Police School has organized this annual scientific conference to examine pressing road safety issues on a scientific basis, promote the practical application of research findings, and expand intersectoral cooperation.

A notable feature of this year’s conference was the participation of scholars, researchers, and specialists from various organizations, including the School of Mechanical Engineering and Transportation of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center, the General Authority for Forensic Examination, the Population, Labour and Social Protection Research Institute, the Traffic Police Department, and other relevant organizations.

The scientific conference is being organized in collaboration with the Association of Compulsory Insurers for the second consecutive year. As part of this collaboration, research papers addressing the current state of road safety and challenges in protecting the lives and health of children and pedestrians have been compiled and published in a proceedings volume. The publication features studies based on actual statistical data, research findings, and practical experience, representing an important outcome of this collaborative effort.

The research papers presented at the conference extend beyond theoretical and academic discussions. They are expected to contribute to the development of practical recommendations and solutions for road safety policies, legal frameworks, enforcement activities, road engineering, and education.

The conference is making a valuable contribution to developing evidence-based solutions to protect the lives and health of children and pedestrians, improve road safety, strengthen inter-agency cooperation, and translate research findings into practical applications.
